Shipping: Rubber expansion joints were originally developed for the shipbuilding industry in the 1950s. They suppress the vibration and noise generated by motors, pumps and generators on board and allow for easy installation of piping components.
Whether in shipbuilding, building services engineering, the mineral oil industry or in machinery, plant and power station construction – elastomer products manufactured by Continental Air Spring Systems reduce tension, isolate noise and vibrations, absorb thermal expansion or building subsidence and compensate for misalignments during installation. We develop products for a wide range of different applications.
The range comprises various bellows designs that have distinctive product characteristics, bellows geometries, and flange designs.
DN 25 to DN 3600 (25 mm to 3,600 mm) in different construction lengths.
PN 2.5 to PN 25 (2.5 bar to 25 bar), depending on the dimensions and version.
Elastomer quality for drinking water with approvals in accordance with the Elastomer Guideline, ACS, and WRAS. It can also be used for oil-free wastewater, compressed air (oil-free), weak acids and alkalis, and special chemicals.
Special quality for abrasive media, such as muds, granulates and liquids with solid content.
For acids, alkalis, chemical wastewater (chemical-resistant) and compressor air containing oil.
Standard quality for cold and warm water, seawater and wastewater (e.g. also slightly acidic, alkaline or containing oil). Also suitable in part for oils and greases.
For oil-free chemicals, air and long-term exposure to hot water; offers high temperature resistance. TÜV-certified for heating systems as per DIN 4809.
High-tech quality to withstand aggressive media and fuels with an aromatic compound content of more than 50%; good resistance to chemicals.
Resistant to mineral oils and fuels, lubricants and hydraulic oils, and cooling water with corrosion protection that contains oil. Very good resistance to ozone.
For mineral oils, fuels, fuel-ethanol mixtures, solvents and greases. Not suitable for steam and hot water.
Elastomer quality for foodstuffs in compliance with the RAL directive, oily and greasy foods and, for example, mash, juices, and wines, as well as for desalination.
