Unique Friction & Skim Coating Construction

The fabric construction of RAPTOR technology is an advancement that allows customers to utilize the benefits of both rubber friction coating and skim coating.

Friction Coating

Friction coating is the process of pressing raw rubber into the fabric - not adding to the fabric’s original thickness - for reinforcement. For example, by using friction coating on the underside of a draper belt with RAPTOR technology, the belt weighs less, has less drag on the supports, thereby reducing wear on the header components.

Skim Coating

Skim coating is when raw rubber is applied as a layer on top of the fabric - adding to the fabric’s original thickness - for fabric protection. For example, utilizing a skim coat on the topside of a draper belt with RAPTOR technology increases belt durability and offers protection from the environment.
